Phil Howry Company

Building and Specialty Trade

The Phil Howry Company recently completed the Consolidated Wing Support Facility at Laughing AFB in Del Rio , TX . (pictured above). The 30,000 S.F. Wing Headquarters building is the prominent and premier building (as to interior finishes) at Laughlin AFB with a contract price just over $8M. The Wing Commander and his battery of subordinates will have their offices located here, including the base legal staff and courtroom. The building also houses a highly sophisticated and extremely secure communications command center section designed to function in times of emergency and or extreme national crisis, with fiber optics and secure transmission capabilities.

In addition, the Phil Howry Co. has recently completed these two new projects; the first is the $5.1M 100-Agent Alpine Border Patrol Station in Alpine, Brewster County, Texas, pictured above.

The second project is the $4M Security Forces Complex Building at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas. This contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Fort Worth District Office, photo below:

The Security Forces Complex is the headquarters for the Laughlin Military Police. This building contains a 24/7 secure operations room with monitors receiving images from remote security cameras stationed around the base and secure communications network to local and national law enforcement agencies. It also contains holding cells and an interior kennel to house the K-9 element of their operations.

The bulk of the Phil Howry Company's contract workload focuses on new construction of one to three-story concrete masonry units; structural steel administration and industrial building construction.

These projects have included sophisticated MEP designs and Advanced Security Systems. Additional specialty trade work includes erecting a 260-foot communications tower and retrofitting a new fire sprinkler system, HVAC unit and fire alarm installation.
